I downloaded a doctoral dissertation on religion from archive.org, written for a “Doctor of Ministry” degree at an evangelical university. I tend to be a logic snob, but I think it’s warranted in the case of a doctoral dissertation. Hence my astonishment at the two opening sentences of the piece:
“Mystery is an important element that can’t be neglected in most religions. Accordingly pursuit of mystery is a natural phenomenon.”

Even seminaries appear to be neglecting the study of simple thinking skills nowadays.
